I need to ask a question of someone who's read Stranger In A Strangeland more recently than I have.
What would be a short, logical answer to the question "Do you grok?" I know this seems obscure but it's a clue in a game I'm playing. _________________ Political Games: Where the fuck's the reset button?!

Mann,
It's probably been more years since I read it than you, but I'm not sure the question is exactly framed right. (Their question, not yours.)
The big GROK! meant that an idea had been grasped.
"Do you Grok?", though, could well just mean, "Do you understand?" or "Do you get it?" |

Yah, we're pretty sure that's the implication. The phrase that came to my mind was "Thou art God". *shrugs* just looking for clues. Gotta love puzzle ARGs... _________________ Political Games: Where the fuck's the reset button?!

Oh man I love Stranger in a Strange Land! Maybe I should read it again after I am done with A Song of Ice and Fire.
Anyways, grok is from the Martian verb to drink so "grok" is not simply understanding, but to take it in fully as if one were drinking.
It is safe to say that if the question was "Thou art God, do you grok?" the answer would be no as your Earthling mind simply could not handle the information.
Edit: As a side note, the religion Michael Valentine forms complete withc communal living, nudism, and polyamory were my inspiration for Xantar's space orgy. It was not as some people have accused me of simply having a lust to write Space Smut. _________________ "I'm kind of an expert on solving problems, sir. Mannie, did you ever solve the puzzle in that game? _________________ Chuck: I don't know anything about you since you were nine.
