I'll be liveblogging the race from my comfty seat in my dorm. I'm cool like that [/sarcasm].
The 'Start Your Engines' have been so weak the past 2 races. You gotta project your voice! Energy!
I'll be constantly updating every so often. Stay tuned.
Boogity boogity boogity! Let's go racing!
Lap 6/7: Everyone's settling in. I've got a fantasy team today, and my personal biases. Biffle passes Kurt Busch for the lead.
My fantasy team is Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, and Michael Waltrip.
Lap 10: Great, Jr's car is doing poorly. They do so badly on these tracks. They finished last at Indy last year due to a crash, but they had been running poorly before that. Matt's moving up.
Damn commercials.
We're back now. Lap 17. More about my biases. I dislike most of Rousch Racing. I dislike Kurt Busch. And I dislike Jimmie Johnson. I like Tony, who is barreling down on the lead.
Lap 23: Jr's running better now, as are Kenseth and Hamlin. Jeff's having problems with his car, and Mikey is 42nd. Great. And Tony dropped back and Kurt Busch is back in 2nd.
Commercials again. *gets on soapbox* nbc and fox [today's provider] need to take lessons from abc: when you go to commercial, leave the race as an insert so we don't miss anything. durnh. *gets off*
And we're back. Biffle still leading.
Lap 31: Caution. Debris. Commercial.
Everybody's pitting. 4 tires and fuel for everyone it seems, plus car adjustments. Will repost new top 5.
1. Greg Biffle
2. Jimmie Johnson
3. Kurt Busch
4. Jeff Burton
5. Tony Stewart
Restart!
My 5 are all within the top 20, save Mikey. Hamlin is 7th, Kenseth 9th, Jr is 13th, Gordon is 16th. Mikey is running last. Ugh.
This has been a good clean race so far. Some exciting moments. Tony split 2 Hendrick cars to pass them both. Casey Mears did a similar move as well.
Hamlin falling back, Kenseth moving up. Tony just passed Busch for 2nd.
Commercial at Lap 45.
And we're back. Lap 52. Kenseth is up to 5th; Jr and Jeff are down to 16th and 17th. Thanks guys, way to step it up. Hamlin is 11th, and Mikey is still last.
Haha... "has these 2 drivers-" learn english dumbass.
Jr is going backwards, but Jeff is moving up. 18th and 16th now.
Lap 60/61: Tony takes lead from Biffle at the line and completes the pass at turn 1. Mikey now 2 laps down. Kenseth up to 4th.
Commercial. Kenseth now 3rd.
We're back. Lap 68. Kenseth 3rd, Hamlin 15th, Gordon 16th, Jr 18th. Good job guys! Mikey pitted due to engine problems. Great. Awesome.
Lap 72: Tony leading, Kenseth 3rd, Gordon 14th, Hamlin 16th, Jr 18th. commercial, getting ready for green-flagged pit stops. Should be fun. Jr pits well so maybe he can move up. plus his teammate martin truex jr is running 19th behind him so maybe they can team up a bit.
Pit stops are wrapping up. Will update once they're done and back from commercials.
Caution after the stops are complete. Debris.
Lap 89: Tony still leading. Mikey still last. They're pitting again on the caution. Tony has a bad stop. Let's see who's running top. Commercial break...
Lap 93: Kenseth leads. Gordon is 11th, Hamlin is 17th, Jr is 19th. Busch passes Kenseth for the lead on the restart.
Lap 94: Kenseth retakes the lead from Busch.
Lap 96: Biffle passes Kenseth for lead.
Lap 98: Gordon in 12th. Hamlin is 17th, Jr is 20th.
Commercial time.
We're back. Lap 108. Kenseth 2nd still. Gordon 14th. Hamlin 19th, Jr 20th. This race is depressing me. Roush Racing [counting Kurt Busch who now races for Penske Racing] has 1st through 5th. And 8th. Ugh.
Lap 122: Kenseth 2nd. tony smoking and going down pit road. Jr is 19th, Gordon and Hamlin are racing above him.
Lap 136: More green flag pit stops.
Lap 142: Kenseth is 4th, Biffle leads. Gordon is 13th, Hamlin is 17th, Jr 18th.
Commercial.
We're back. Lap 150. Kenseth still up high [2nd-3rd], Gordon 13th, Hamlin 16th and Jr 17th.
Commercial. 21 cars on the lead lap. Mikey moved up to 42nd *rolls eyes* Jr is sitting at 17th, so I'm nervous, obviously... caution please!!!!
I'm pretty much done this. I'll update if anything changes beyond Biffle lapping everybody. 15 cars on the leadlap with 55 to go.
Lap 196: Caution out for debris. Junior gets the lucky dog free pass. He's back on the lead lap. We've got ourselves a race again *grins*
Another caution. Tony's engine blew. Everyone topped off on fuel, everyone but Gordon with 4 tires.
Alright, around 30 laps to go. 17 cars on the lead lap. Restart now.
Gordon leads. Kenseth 2nd. Kenseth for the pass. Caution. Before or after the pass?
Kenseth leads. Gordon 2nd. Truex gets lucky dog pass.
Restart, followed by another caution; Kurt Busch spun out. Ran right in front of Harvick's nose. Scary stuff. No one's hurt though, thank goodness.
Kenseth leads, Gordon is 5th, Jr is 11th, Hamlin is 18th, and Mikey is 38th.
Restart with 22 to go. Kenseth holds lead.
Caution with 5 to go! Green-white-checkered restart it is. should be fun *grins* Matt leads, Jimmie is 2nd, Jr and Hamlin pit for fresh tires, Gordon stays out in 9th with the older tires.
Green flag! Kesneth holds lead off first 2 turns. Turn 3... Kenseth holding lead... White flag! Kenseth holds lead in turn 1. Carl Edwards fighting for 2nd, jimmie holds off. Into turn 3, Kenseth holds lead... off turn 4.... WINNER!!!!! WOOT!!!!!! _________________ Political Games: Where the fuck's the reset button?!
